myTpen Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy outlines your rights regarding the personal information you share with myTpen, how we collect, use and protect that data, and how you may contact us. It also details changes to this policy and additional practices related to our expanding application suite.

Personal data collection

If you visit any domain or subdomain of myTpen.app or log into your account, we may collect and process the following Personal data:

  • Email Address: Required for account creation, communication, and billing.
  • Mobile Number: Collected during profile setup and used for account verification, support, and notifications.
  • Billing Address: Required for SaaS subscription billing.
  • IP Address: Used for billing validation and service security.
  • Usage Activity: Tracked to improve user experience and monitor usage limits.
  • Card Details: Collected and processed securely by PCI-DSS-compliant providers (e.g., Razorpay, Stripe) for recurring billing purposes. We do not store your complete card details on our servers.
  • Location Data: Collected via your IP address or browser for determining billing currency and compliance with local tax laws.

"Personal data" means any information related to an identifiable individual. We process this data to maintain service functionality, fulfill our legal obligations, and improve service stability and performance.

Student, Teacher, and Guardian data

We process data shared by:

  • Students: Submissions, responses, academic records.
  • Teachers: Login credentials, teaching material, annotations.
  • Parents/Guardians: Names, contact information, linked account references.

This information is only used for educational workflows and is not shared externally unless required by law or explicitly consented.

User files

In general, we do not store any user-uploaded files or processed output files permanently. However, for specific apps (such as the Exams App), certain files may be stored securely to allow users to retrieve information later for review and ease of access. This storage is purpose-limited, encrypted, and protected with strict access controls.

Use of third-party services

You may use third-party platforms (e.g., Dropbox, Google Drive) to connect to our services. We use authorization tokens (OAuth) to enable access without storing your credentials.

User Accounts

When creating an account, we collect your:

  • Email address and password
  • Optional login via Google OAuth credentials
  • Mobile number (for authentication or alerts)

These allow secure access to our services and customization of your user experience.

Communication and customer support

When contacting us, we collect:

  • Your email address and any details you provide in your message

We use this to respond to your support requests and to improve service delivery. Marketing emails are only sent with your prior consent and include opt-out functionality.

OpenAI usage in Notes+GPT

Our Notes+GPT app uses OpenAI APIs. Content processed through this app is handled per OpenAI's privacy terms and is not stored or retained by myTpen. AI-generated responses are not used for profiling or automated decision-making.

Information protection

We maintain a secure IT environment using:

  • End-to-end encryption (e.g., for passwords and authentication)
  • Data minimization principles
  • Strict internal access control
  • Routine security audits

Information usage

Your Personal Data is used to:
